The RCMP is investigating a single-vehicle accident that claimed the life of a 21-year-old Perth-Andover man early Sunday morning.

The crash occurred at approximately 3 a.m. in Oakland, New Brunswick, just south of Florenceville-Bristol.

The vehicle was traveling on the Oakland Road when the driver lost control on a curve, according to Cpl. Lloyd Harquail of the Woodstock RCMP. The vehicle went off the road and crashed into a utility pole.

A 21-year-old man from Perth-Andover, who was a passenger, died at the scene. Two other people in the vehicle suffered injuries and were taken by ambulance to the hospital.
