Penobscot County Flower Shop Gutted By Fire, Owner Thanks Customers for Years of Patronage

A major fire destroyed Creative Blooms & More in Lincoln Saturday and threatened a nearby pool hall.

Lincoln Deputy Fire Chief Frank Hammond said crews responded just before 3 am to the floral shop at 222 West Broadway when a resident went to the Lincoln Public Safety building after seeing smoke.

Firefighters from Lincoln, Howland, Lee, Lowell and Burlington kept the blaze from reaching Shooters, a billiards hall, bar and grill which is also part of the building complex.

Hammond said the flower store had smoke detectors, but did not appear to have a sprinkler system.

Firefighters notified the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office, which will be investigating, Hammond said.

Heather Austin, The owner of Creative Blooms & More posted on the shop's Facebook page,  "Thank you to all our friends that we have made over the years, for making us the great flower shop we were. Not sure what the future holds for us."
