The 68th annual Presque Isle Rotary Auction will air live on Time Warner Cable Channel 9 and Big Country 96-9 from December 1st – 3rd.

This year, the Presque Isle Rotary Club aims to raise approximately $50,000 for several local charitable organizations.

The Club has selected Quoggy Jo Ski Center as this year’s ‘Special Project.’ A goal of $25,000 has been set to help the ski center fund its Safety Project Campaign for Capital Improvements. This effort will address the much-needed replacement of aging equipment and help the ski center to provide safe, reliable and economical winter recreation activities to the children and families Presque Isle communities.

The Rotary auction will also raise funds for seven other local organizations and agencies:

Aroostook Autism Support Group to support the Annual Aroostook Autism Conference 2016, which will bring trainings and resources to the area.

Grace Interfaith Food Table (GIFT) for an upright refrigerator to hold 600 pounds of fresh fruits, vegetables, milk products, eggs and cheese and hand trucks to safely unload goods each week.

Presque Isle Fire Department to support a program to fill empty fire extinguishers.

Presque Isle Historical Society to fund an Education Exhibit  on the rich history of agriculture, farms and specifically potato farming in the area.

Presque Isle Snowmobile Club for the replacement of the club’s 6-burner gas range. The club offers its clubhouse to many non-profit organizations for Stew Nights, parties and meetings.

Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery for the purchase of 30 American Flags to fly 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, May through Veterans Day at the cemetery’s Avenue of Flags.

St. Apollonia Dental Clinic for the sedation equipment needed to treat children requiring care for extreme dental disease that would otherwise have to travel to Bangor or further south.
