WCSH-TV reports the Cumberland County Sheriff Department responded to an emergency call about a shooting in Baldwin around 1:45 p.m. Sunday. Police say six men were doing target practice when one of their rifles jammed.

Police say two of the men were trying to clear the rife when a man in the group walked in front of the rife and was shot at close range. Investigators say the man suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and died at the scene.

Police have identified the victim as 20-year-old Chance Gallant, of Sebago.

An investigation is ongoing but police don't believe the shooting is suspicious.
