The event starts Friday and continues through Sunday.

Officials caution that there aren't as many trails ready this year due to the lack of snow.

Snowmobilers registered in any of the states are allowed on trails in all three states. Host state regulations apply, including speed limits, youth laws and Vermont's mandatory liability insurance law.

New Hampshire and Vermont have held an annual reciprocity weekend since 2010. Maine passed a law in 2011.

The states have agreed to allow trail access without having to pay another state for the opportunity to ride there.
