The accident happened at around 11:50 a.m. at the Park Street intersection, according to Officer Hafford of the Presque Isle Police Department. A white 2002 GMC Sierra pickup truck collided with a red 1999 Honda SUV. The teenage boy who was driving the pickup was not injured.

Hafford said that a mother, an infant and a young child who were in the SUV were transported by Crown Ambulance to the Aroostook Medical Center. The infant was apparently not injured.  The mother and child were treated for what appeared to be minor injuries.

Presque Isle Police and the Presque Isle Fire Department were on scene and a detour was set up for about 30 minutes.  Crews worked quickly to clear glass and debris from the street.

Both vehicles were a total loss, Hafford said.
