Noon Hour Collision in Downtown Presque Isle [UPDATE]
A two-vehicle collision on Main Street in Presque Isle just before noon Friday sent a mother and her two children to the hospital.
The accident happened at around 11:50 a.m. at the Park Street intersection, according to Officer Hafford of the Presque Isle Police Department. A white 2002 GMC Sierra pickup truck collided with a red 1999 Honda SUV. The teenage boy who was driving the pickup was not injured.
Hafford said that a mother, an infant and a young child who were in the SUV were transported by Crown Ambulance to the Aroostook Medical Center. The infant was apparently not injured. The mother and child were treated for what appeared to be minor injuries.
Both vehicles were a total loss, Hafford said.
PIPD Officer Kyle White is investigating the accident. The cause has not been determined.
