New Brunswick’s Population is on the Decline
New Brunswick's population dropped by almost 1,000 people over the last year.
According to Statistics Canada, the new figures put the province's population at just over 756,000. That is a 0.1 % drop from the July 2012 population estimate.
New Brunswick is one of only four jurisdictions in all of Canada to drop in population. Nova Scotia saw the biggest decline in population, with a 0.5% decrease.
The report also indicates that over the last 30 years, New Brunswick has gone from representing 2.8% of the national population in 1983 to 2.2% in 2013.
