According to the Washington County Sheriff's Department, Dylan Porter of Brookton passed away at the scene of the crash on Route 1.

Porter was heading south on his way to school in a 2003 Ford Taurus when he collided with a 2010 Western Star headed north near Malcolm Hill in Topsfield.  Police say Porter's car hit the trailer portion of the big rig. His car was a total loss.

The other driver, 39-year-old Kevin Lagase of New Denmark, New Brunswick, was not hurt.

Investigators say it's not clear which vehicle crossed the center line. They say alcohol, speed and road conditions do not appear to be factors.

Washington County Sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by Maine State Police,  and members of Topsfield Fire Department. Calais Fire and Rescue, and Indian Township Fire and Rescue.

Porter was a senior at Lee Academy.
