The Northeast District RCMP responded to a single-vehicle crash in Blackland, New Brunswick on Thursday, November 3. Police say three people – a man and two children who were all related to each other – were taken to hospital.

The children were transferred to the IWK Hospital in Halifax and later released, according to the RCMP. The man remained hospitalized in Campbellton over the weekend.

Information received by police suggested that foul play may have been involved and the RCMP's Major Crime Unit began investigating.

The man involved in the crash was arrested when he was released from hospital on Monday. He is scheduled to appear in Campbellton Provincial Court on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. to face charges related to accident.

No further details were released.
