New Brunswick Highways on Top 10 Worst Roads List

Atlantic Canadians have identified the top ten Worst Roads in the region.

CAA’s recently conducted annual Worst Roads campaign, which attracted more than 7,000 votes for roads in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

The 2016 Worst Roads in Atlantic Canada as voted by Atlantic Canadians are:

1. Mountain Road (Christmas Island/Eskasoni, N.S.)
2. Pine Glen Road (Riverview, N.B.)
3. Louisville Road (River John, N.S.)
4. Clark Road (North Bedeque, P.E.)
5. Dawson Road (Hillsborough, N.B.)
6. New Brunswick 105 (Upper Kent, N.B)
7. Brae Harbour Road (Coleman, P.E.I.)
8. Trans-Labrador Highway (Happy Valley-Goose-Bay, N.L.)
9. New Brunswick 616 (Keswick Ridge, N.B.)
10. Main Street (Port au Choix, N.L.)

Roads and driving safety are a priority for CAA Atlantic. Poor road conditions affect us all through increased vehicle repair costs, insurance claims, work compensation, healthcare costs and precious time and energy wasted in traffic congestion.

“The Worst Roads campaign allows the public to identify the roads in their area that are in particularly rough shape or present dangerous driving conditions,” says Gary Howard, Vice President of Communications at CAA (Atlantic).  “Ongoing road maintenance is essential to ensure that we can all enjoy safe, economical, environmentally responsible and pleasant driving conditions. We have notified government officials for each of the top ten roads, and always welcome the opportunity to share information on planned repairs or upgrades”.  All available information for each road is made available to CAA Members and the public on the Worst Roads website, which is updated year-round.
