Legislation banning the sale of all flavoured tobacco, including menthol, takes effect today in New Brunswick.

The province made changes to the Tobacco and Electronic Cigarette Sales Act in 2015.

They included prohibiting the sale of e-cigarettes and their liquids to those under 19 years of age . Prohibited products will include flavoured cigars, flavoured papers, menthol cigarettes and flavoured cigarillos.

According to the New Brunswick Lung Association, over half of high school students who use tobacco in New Brunswick are using flavoured tobacco.
