The Brooklyn Nets have bought out seven time allstar forward Joe Johnson and he is free to sign with any club. The move could help the Boston Celtics in two ways.

According to ESPN reports, the Celtics are one of seven playoff teams interested in signing Johnson. He is averaging about 12 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists per game.

Even if Johnson doesn't come to Boston the move out of Brooklyn should help the C's. They may not win as many games and remember the Celts have the Nets #1 draft pick. Brooklyn is 15-42, the fourth worst record in the NBA.

Johnson was making a whopping $24.9 million dollars this season, the final year of his six year deal.
