The Husson Eagles nearly pulled off a major  upset in the first round of the NCAA Division-III playoffs but a late three pointer gave 15th ranked Amherst the 74-72 win.

Raheem Anderson hit a three-pointer with 28-seconds left to give the Eagles 72-71 lead.

Amherst's Jeff Racy came back with a three-pointer with 14-seconds left to give the Lord Jeffs a 74-72.

On the final possession, Husson's Trevon Butler lost the ball on a dribble-drive move to the basket and the Eagles came up short.

Trevon Butler finishes his brilliant career with 25 points to lead the Eagles.

Husson's season ends at 21-7. Amherst (23-5) will play SUNY-Cortland in the second round of the NCAA tourney Saturday night.
