Multi-Vehicle Crash on Main Street in Presque Isle

Nobody was injured in a multi-vehicle accident on Main Street in Presque Isle Friday afternoon.

Presque Isle Police Officer Matt Brown tells our newsroom that the accident occurred around 2 p.m. in front of Freshies market. A car stopped in the southbound lane to make a left turn onto Davis Street, and three vehicles behind the car collided as they all tried to stop.

The first car was not struck, Brown said. The other three vehicles­­--a Chevy Impala, a Toyota Corolla and a Toyota Sienna SUV--were significantly damaged.

Presque Isle Police Department, Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office, and Presque Fire Department responded to the accident. The damaged vehicles were towed away and the scene was cleared within 30 minutes, Officer Brown said.

Fortunately, there were no injuries.
