Monticello Man Arrested After Meth Bust
A Monticello man is behind bars after being arrested and charged with drug trafficking in connection with a suspected meth lab at his home on Tuesday.
An Aroostook County Sheriff’s Deputy went to the home of 27-year-old Matthew Thibodeau on the Lake Road in Monticello late Monday afternoon to conduct a bail check and reportedly discovered evidence of methamphetamine manufacturing.
Thibodeau was charged with trafficking in scheduled drugs as well as violations of conditions of release. He was taken to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton after this arrest.
The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant remained at the home in Monticello throughout much of the day Tuesday.
So far this year, MDEA agents have investigated 20 suspected methamphetamine labs across the state. Twelve of them have been in Aroostook County.
