A Moncton man has been charged with sex offences involving teenage girls following a six-month investigation by the Codiac Regional RCMP.

Police say 60-year-old Bharat Gadher was arrested on Wednesday and appeared in Moncton Provincial Court Thursday morning. Gadher has been charged with five counts of sexual exploitation of a young person. The alleged victims, all females under the age of 18, are from the Greater Moncton area.

RCMP say Gadher was remanded into custody until a bail hearing on November 23.

The investigation is continuing and further charges are possible, police say. The Codiac RCMP Youth at Risk Section and Southeast District RCMP are also assisting with the investigation.

Anyone who believes they may be a victim of sexual exploitation is asked to call the Codiac RCMP at 506-857-2400.
