MIT Beats MMA In NEFC Opener

Maine Maritime Academy fell to MIT in the New England Football Conference opener 30-13. The Engineers scored the win in Castine by shutting down the Mariners run game.

MMA was held to just 196 yards on ground and no points in the second half. Jacob Doolan led MMA with 107 of the 196 yards.

MIT led 17-13 at halftime and then scored a touchdown and two field goals in the second half.

MMA linebacker Cody Chapman (Bangor HS) had a career high 17 tackles, including five for a loss.

MMA falls to 1-2 (0-1 NEFC). MIT is 1-3 (1-0 NEFC).

The Mariners are on the road at Coast Guard next week
