Missing Hunters Found After Weekend Search in Northern Maine

The search for two hunters from the Millinocket area came to an end Sunday evening after Canadian Border Patrol agents found the men safe and sound.

The Maine Warden Service said Travis Hafford and Ryan Stevens were located in Eagle Lake Township shortly before 6pm Sunday. The two friends had left on a hunting trip early Friday in the Chamberlain Lake/Clayton Lake area, but failed to return as expected that evening.  Hafford and Stevens were reported missing around 2am Saturday.

Searchers combed the  rugged terrain in the Allagash wilderness throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday.  Wardens say the truck the men were in may have become stuck, but more details will be known soon.
