Michael Ray will embark on his second headlining tour later this year. Named for the first single from his forthcoming sophomore album, the Get to You Tour will make stops in 15 cities this fall.

Ray's 2017 tour kicks off on Oct. 5 in Alabama and wraps Dec. 9 in Pennsylvania. Devin Dawson will serve as an opener on select dates.

“I had such an amazing time on the Think a Little Less Tour last year, as it was really the first opportunity since we started this journey to get out there and see what our fans wanted to hear and experience,” Ray says in a press release. “Since then, I’ve been out opening for some incredible acts from Alabama and Sam Hunt to Darius Rucker. I treated every date we played as a chance to learn something – whether it was backstage training or standing side-stage just taking it all in – [and] having those experiences have all led to this tour. I can’t wait to share it with fans.”

“Get to You” is the first single from Ray’s second studio album, and he tells Taste of Country that it’s very different vocally. But it’s the song’s message that will grab fans.

“We all in our lives have had something change us, and whether you know what it is or not, a lot of times that’s what stops you from giving your all to another person,” Ray says to Wendy Lynn from Country 106.5 WYRK in Buffalo, N.Y., a Taste of Country radio station. “You’ve got a little bit of a wall built. You’ve got something that’s stopping you from loving wholeheartedly.”

In the song, the Floridian urges this woman to love again, even it it’s not with him. “Hopefully you’ll get through it,” he says, “and hopefully it’s with me but if it’s not with me then hopefully the person you fall in love with you fall (whole)hearted.”

In addition to his own tour, Ray will be on select Dustin Lynch tour dates this fall.
