Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument Superintendent Tim Hudson announced today that the National Park Service (NPS) will host a public meeting on October 17, at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.

The meeting continues the public outreach for the ongoing management planning process for the monument.

“We’ve learned a lot about the variety of uses within the monument from our past meetings,” said Superintendent Tim Hudson. “For this meeting and the others we are planning around Maine this fall, we want to discuss what we’ve learned and begin to identify important resources which will be the backbone of future management areas.”

Other meetings this fall are scheduled in the Bangor, Maine area on October 30th and in the Portland, Maine area on November 14th.
