Working closely with the Bangor Police Department, MDEA AGENTS this week opened an investigation into the importation and sale of crack cocaine in the Bangor area. The investigation began following the arrest of Cedric Butler, 39, by Bangor Police on crack cocaine related offenses. Butler, also from Boston, is currently being held at the Penobscot County Jail on $5000 cash bail.

Following her arrest, investigators learned that others from out of state would be coming to the Bangor area in order to sell crack cocaine in an attempt to raise Butler’s bail money.

Late last night, the suspect’s vehicle was located exiting I-95 onto Broadway in Bangor and stopped by Bangor Police. The vehicle was operated by 24-year-old Kareena Khan, of Boston and a Bangor PD drug sniffing dog revealed that Khan was in possession of approximately 63 grams of crack cocaine with a street value of $7000.

Khan was arrested  and charged with Class A, Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Crack Cocaine).  The charge was aggravated due to the amount of drugs which were seized. She was transported to the Penobscot County Jail where she is currently being held on $12,000. cash bail. She will likely make an initial appearance in Bangor Unified Court later today.

This investigation is continuing and more arrests are possible. Arrest photo is available from the Penobscot County Jail.
