Maine Drug Enforcement Agents have arrested a couple from Brownville and charged them with selling heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine in Piscataquis County.

Working closely with the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office, investigators assigned to MDEA’s North Central Task Force opened an investigation into the distribution of the drugs, which involved several undercover purchases of heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine from the couple’s home at 43 Page St. A search of the house located heroin, crack cocaine and prescription pills along with over $18,000 in suspected drug proceeds.

Robert Wood, 49, and Starr Leeman, 40, have been charged with several counts of Aggravated Unlawful Trafficking of Schedule W Drugs. Wood remains at the Piscataquis County Jail, and Leeman is free on $20,000 bail. The arrests took place last week. The investigation is continuing and more arrests are possible. In an unrelated investigation, MDEA has arrested three residents from Deer Isle on heroin charges. Drug agents have been investigating heroin selling for the past five months by a group on Deer Isle and Stonington. Late Monday afternoon, with the assistance of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, a single family residence at 47 Little Deer Isle Road on Deer Isle was searched. Seized was heroin, a handgun and other items consistent with the sale and distribution of drugs.

Arrested was Kenneth Farrin, 27, of Deer Isle was arrested for Class B Unlawful Trafficking of Schedule W Drugs (Heroin), Class D Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person and Class C Possession of a Schedule W Drugs (Heroin). Bail was set at $3,500 cash. Also arrested was Shane Wood, 27, of Deer Isle was arrested for Class B Unlawful Trafficking of Schedule W Drugs (Heroin).  Bail was set at $1,500 cash & Jared Young ,26, of Deer Isle was arrested for Class B Unlawful Trafficking of Schedule W Drugs (Heroin). Bail was set at $1,500 cash.
