It's been over three years since our friend Matthew Turnbull passed away in a car accident. Matt was affectionately known as "Nameless the Intern" on Presque isle radio station 101-9 The Rock.

The Saturday night event in Caribou honors this young man's spirit and energy and raises money for young people who want to learn a trade. The social hour and silent auction  will begin at 7 p.m., followed by live music from 8 to midnight with Matt's favorite local band, Common Crossing.

The cover charge is $10 per person. All proceeds will benefit the "Livin' the Dream" Scholarship fund which helps two students each year who are pursuing an education in the trades at Northern Maine Community College.

NMCC was where Matt found his niche. He earned an associate’s degree as well as the distinction of “Outstanding Student of the Year” in the Metal Fabrication Program. Matthew was proud of his educational achievements and his connection with the college and continued learning was a priority in his life.

"Anyone who knew Matt quickly recognized his energy, humor, and generous spirit. He was always wearing a smile and when asked how he was doing, he would reply “I’m Livin’ the Dream” no matter the day or the circumstance, which became the inspiration behind the name for the scholarship fund."
