Matt Irwin Resigns as Chief of Presque Isle Police

Matt Irwin, Presque isle Police Chief since 2011, resigned Tuesday as he plans his campaign for Aroostook County Sheriff.

Irwin says his resignation will allow him to focus more on running for the Sheriff’s position.

Acting Aroostook County Sheriff Shawn Gillen is also running for the office.
