This video of a volcano erupting in Mexico reminds us how awesome it is to live in Maine. But keep in mind, Maine has a history of violent volcanic eruptions.

Maine was home of some super volcanic activity - albeit, almost 420 million years ago. But still, we had volcanoes. Isle au Haut, part of Acadia National Park, Cranberry Island, and Mount Desert Island are all part of our volcanic history.

We really have minimal natural disasters in our great state. Earthquakes, tornadoes, and hurricanes can and do happen in Maine, but the index is really low. More reasons why - It's good to live in Maine.
