State Police were called to a residence on Silver Street in Mars Hill at approximately 12:05 a.m. Sunday, according to a press release from Sgt. Josh Haines. Cpl. Chuck Michaud and Trooper Nick Casavant entered the residence at the request of the homeowner, after confirming there was in fact a warrant for the arrest of 25-year-old Arthur Gray of Mars Hill.

Police said Gray appeared to be under the influence of intoxicants and refused to submit to arrest.

A struggle ensued where Gray was kicking and swinging at the Troopers, Haines said.

Gray was taken into custody, and was first transported to Houlton Regional Hospital to be treated for minor injuries to his face. He was then taken to the Aroostook County Jail where we was charged with Violation of Bail, Possession of Scheduled Drugs, Assault and Refusing to Submit to Arrest.

Cpl. Michaud and Trooper Casavant sustained minor hand injuries in the struggle, Haines said.

Gray is not eligible for bail due to previous warrants.
