Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened Thursday evening at an Automated Teller Machine at the entrance of a Moncton bank.

According the Codiac Regional RCMP, a man was making a deposit at the ATM inside the entrance of the Scotiabank branch at 796 Mountain Road at around 6:30 p.m., when he was approached by a man armed with what appeared to be a handgun.

The suspect demanded money and then fled with the cash. The victim immediately called the police. No one was physically injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, tall, with a skinny build and dark hair. He was wearing a hat, a dark-colored shirt and a jacket.  The investigation is continuing.
