Man in Wheelchair Struck and Killed by Train in Moncton
The RCMP is investigating after a man in a wheelchair was struck and killed by a CN Rail train in downtown Moncton in the early hours Wednesday.
The Codiac RCMP responded to a report of a person being struck by a train on the tracks in the area of Robinson and Victoria Streets at approximately 1:45 a.m.
Cpl. Jacques Cloutier said the victim is a 29-year-old man from Moncton who uses a wheelchair. The RCMP and CN Police are working together to determine the cause of the fatal collision.
A spokesman for CN Rail said the crossing was equipped with lights and gates.
