Man Facing Drug Charges After Traffic Stop in Presque Isle
One man was arrested in Presque Isle recently and is facing drug trafficking charges after a vehicle stop.
According to the Presque Isle Police Department, Officer Brian McQuarrie stopped a vehicle on Dragon Drive in Presque Isle for a traffic violation recently. During the stop, Officer McQuarrie discovered that the driver had a suspended license. After talking to the driver and 2 occupants of the vehicle, Officer McQuarrie became suspicious of their activity and called for backup.
Officer Kevin Reed and K-9 Dozer assisted at the scene. K-9 Dozer provided a positive alert to the presence of illegal drugs. K-9 Dozer specifically identified a 29-year-old male passenger. Upon searching the subject, Officer Reed found 3.1 grams of heroin in his sock and 14.5 grams of marijuana in his pants.
After a search of the vehicle and other occupants, $1050.00 in cash and a digital scale were also seized.
The 29-year-old male was arrested for Class B Trafficking in Scheduled ‘W’ Drugs and taken to jail pending a court appearance.
