The West District RCMP Saint-Léonard Detachment arrested a 47-year-old Moncton man Tuesday morning after seizing what are believed to be methamphetamine pills near Saint-Léonard.

The man's name has not been released. His vehicle was stopped on the Trans-Canada Highway near Saint-Léonard around 7:45 am. The RCMP found approximately 28-thousand pills of what is believed to be methamphetamine after a search of the vehicle, police said. The driver was arrested at the scene.

He was released pending a court date. The investigation continues.
