The plane down went in Northeast Cove, in the northern section of the lake as the pilot was attempting to land the pontoon plane around 7 p.m.  Police say the Cessna 185 four-seater was submerged in about 20 feet of water.

The pilot, 31-year-old Thomas Coleman of West Forks, Maine escaped with minor injuries and did not require hospitalization. His passenger, 24-year-old Ashli Goodenow of Portland, was taken by Lifeflight to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor to be treated for a head injury.

Coleman told investigators that he was flying from Jackman to Northeast Carry in Western Maine. State Police and the Warden Service responded to the scene Saturday night. The FAA will now investigate the crash.
