Mrs. LePage visited with young families who had babies born over the past year and who received a complimentary copy of the 'Love.Read.Learn!' Baby Journal. She wrote a personal message in the books for the children as a keepsake during her time on the TAMC’s Women and Children’s Unit.

The “Love.Read.Learn!” Baby Journal was provided at no cost to parents of newborns in Maine over the last year. The first books were presented at the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital in Portland by LePage and former U.S. First Lady and Maine summer resident, Barbara Bush.

The journal features the artwork of selected artists participating in the “Maine is ME Student Art Challenge.” Artwork was submitted by 867 children in grades K-8 from throughout the state. The publication features the works of 31 children.

The featured cover artist, Kevin Duplessie of Caribou, joined Mrs. LePage for the autograph session, personalizing books for the families in attendance.
