Troop F of the Maine State Police responded to 108 calls for service in and around Aroostook County this past week. Here are the incidents included in their weekly report:

Incident Type: K-9 ACTIVITY Date: 8/27/2018 Town: MARS HILL Trooper: TR. LEVESQUE Brief Synopsis: Tr. Levesque stopped a vehicle for speed in Mars Hill. While Tr. Levesque was speaking to the driver and occupant he developed articulable suspicion to have K-9 “Vitz” perform an exterior sniff of the vehicle. Vitz did not provide any indication on the vehicle and the driver was released.

Incident Type: ASSIST OTHER AGENCY Date: 8/28/2018 Town: SHERMAN Trooper: SGT. CLARK Brief Synopsis: Sgt. Clark responded to a tree down on Interstate 95, Sherman area that was blocking the left lane. The Sherman Fire Department was on scene and Maine Department of Transportation was there removing the tree. Sgt. Clark provided traffic control for Maine Department of Transportation until the lane was clear.

Incident Type: CRIMINAL SPEED Date: 8/29/2018 Town: LITTLETON Trooper: CPL. QUINT Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Quint was conducting traffic enforcement on US Highway 1, Littleton. A vehicle was driving north driving at 86 mph in a posted 55 mph zone, and closing quickly on a reduced speed zone. Cpl. Quint stopped the vehicle and the man said he was passing other vehicles and did not realize his speed. The driver was issued a criminal summons for exceeding the posted speed limit by 30 mph or more.

Incident Type: WARRANT ARREST Date: 8/31/2018 Town: MAPLETON Trooper: TR. STOUTAMYER Brief Synopsis: Tr Stoutamyer received information that a male subject with arrest warrants was reported to be at his mother’s house in Mapleton. This is the suspect that Tr Stoutamyer was involved in a chase with several weeks ago that ended in Presque Isle and the suspect had fled the scene. Tr Stoutamyer arrived and the male’s mother told Tr Stoutamyer that he was inside and that she gave permission for Tr. Stoutamyer to go into the house and get him. Tr Stoutamyer found the male in his bedroom and arrested him without incident then transported him to ACJ.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 8/31/2018 Town: HOULTON Trooper: TR. PESCITELLI Brief Synopsis: Tr Pescitelli made a traffic stop in Houlton and found that the 55 year old female operator was under suspension. Tr Pescitelli summonsed the female for OAS.

Incident Type: WARRANT ARREST/ OAS Date: 9/01/2018 Town: EASTON Trooper: TR. PESCITELLI Brief Synopsis: Tr Pescitelli stopped a vehicle in Easton and found the 37 year old male operator had an active arrest warrant for failing to appear and also was under suspension. Tr Pescitelli arrested the male and transported him to PIPD where the male was bailed.

Incident Type: WARRANT ARREST Date: 9/01/2018 Town: HOULTON Trooper: TR. ADAMS Brief Synopsis: Tr Adams located a 33 year old male with an outstanding warrant out of Sagadahoc County for unpaid fines. Tr Adams arrested the male and transported him to ACJ.

Incident Type: BURGLARY Date: 9/02/2018 Town: MONTICELLO Trooper: TR. CASAVANT Brief Synopsis: Tr. Casavant initiated a burglary investigation when a local man reported his home had been broken into. The complainant reported that the incident had occurred the day before and that several items had been taken from him home. The investigation is ongoing.

Incident Type: THEFT Date: 9/02/2018 Town: NORTH MAINE WOODS Trooper: TR. SYLVIA Brief Synopsis: Tr. Sylvia took a theft complaint from a Fort Kent man. The individual reported that sometime during the last 2-3 weeks, he had two generators and a rifle stolen from a location off the Pinkham road in the North Maine Woods. Tr. Sylvia was assisted by a Ranger from the Maine Forest Service due to the remote location of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
