Incident Type: OAS Date: 9/12/2016 Town: Easton Trooper: Sgt. Clark Brief Synopsis: Sgt. Clark stopped a 37-year-old Easton resident in Easton for a traffic infraction. Sgt. Clark learned the man had a suspended driver’s license for failing to maintain required liability insurance. Sgt. Clark issued the man a summons for the violation.

Incident Type: CRIMINAL SPEED Date: 9/13/2016 Town: Madawaska Lake Trooper: Cpl. Quint Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Quint stopped a 23-year-old Fort Kent woman for criminal speeding on Route 161 in Madawaska Lake. The woman had her infant child in the vehicle at the time of the stop. The woman said she was having a lot of problems with her truck and was meeting a wrecker in Caribou so it could be returned to the dealer for service. The woman was issued a criminal summons for driving 90 mph in a 55 mph zone.

Incident Type: Search Warrant Date: 9/12/2016 Town: Smyrna Trooper: Tr. Saucier Brief Synopsis: Tr. Saucier investigated a complaint in Smyrna when a landowner called and reported a neighbor had been bothering her family and possibly had a firearm during one of the encounters. Tr. Saucier learned that the subject was a felon. He spoke with him and the male subject apologized for is behavior, but denied having a firearm. The neighbor called back after Tr. Saucier left and reported that she believed the person had fired two gunshots. Tr. Saucer returned with a search warrant, but no firearm or evidence of any gunshots being fired was found.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 9/17/2016 Town: Frenchville Trooper: Tr. Curtin Brief Synopsis: Tr. Curtin stopped a local man in Frenchville for speeding. A license check revealed that the operator did not have a valid driver’s license. He was warned for his speed and summoned for Operating Without a License.

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 9/16/2016 Town: Staceyville Trooper: Tr. Saucier Brief Synopsis: Tr. Saucier arrested a Staceyville man on an outstanding warrant. He was arrested and transported to Penobscot County Jail without incident. The warrant was for unpaid fines in relation to a charge of violating conditions of release.

Incident Type: DOMESTIC VIOLENCE Date: 9/13/2016 Town: Staceyville Trooper: Tr. Saucier Brief Synopsis: Troopers Saucier and Sylvia responded to Staceyville when a local couple both called 911 to report that they wanted each other removed from the residence they were staying at. Troopers were familiar with the couple and have a very lengthy history of dealing with them. The male subject reported that he had been assaulted the night before by the female. During the encounter, she had taken kitchen knives and came after him. He had been able to stop the attack and ultimately left the residence before returning in the morning to try and work things out. When this did not work, they both called the police. The female was arrested for D/V Assault and taken to Penobscot County Jail.

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties.
