Troop F of the Maine State Police responded to 172 calls for service this past week in and around Aroostook County. Here is a sampling from the Troop’s weekly report:

Incident Type: TRESPASS Date: 5/21/2018 Town: ALLAGASH Trooper: TR. CURTIN Brief Synopsis: Tr. Hafford issued criminal trespass warnings to a man and woman when a land owner’s representative complained the pair had been trespassing. The man issued a trespass warning owned nearby land and reportedly had property on the other person’s land. Tr. Curtin made arrangements for him to remove his property from the other person’s land.

Incident Type: LOST FIREARM Date: 5/23/2018 Town: CHAPMAN Trooper: TR. CASAVANT Brief Synopsis: Tr. Casavant took a report of a lost / stolen handgun. The caller reported last seeing his firearm some time 2-3 years prior to him reporting it missing. His delay in reporting the missing gun was related to difficulty finding the serial number for the firearm. The gun has been entered into NCIC.

Incident Type: THEFT Date: 5/23/2018 Town: LUDLOW Trooper: TR. SYLVIA Brief Synopsis: Tr. Sylvia took a theft complaint in Ludlow. The caller reported some construction supplies being recently stolen. Some of the material stolen included roofing supplies and lumber. The investigation is ongoing.

Incident Type: FRAUD Date: 5/24/2018 Town: EAGLE LAKE Trooper: CPL. MICHAUD Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Michaud responded to Eagle Lake when a bank called on behalf of one of their customers reporting that a relative had forged one of the man’s checks. Once Cpl. Michaud had spoken with the family, he learned that no forgery or fraud had taken place. The man’s spouse had given permission for the relative to use a check. The matter was resolved with the family, who all resided together.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 5/24/2018 Town: CARIBOU Trooper: TR. DESROSIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier was traveling through Caribou and observed an ATV operating on a public way. Tr. Desrosier stopped the ATV. The operator did not have an active license and has history for OAS. Tr. Desrosier summonsed the man for OAS.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 5/25/2018 Town: BRIDGEWATER Trooper: TR. DUFF Brief Synopsis: Tr. Duff received a call from US Customs port of entry in Bridgewater of a Canadian citizen who was entering the country and had a suspended Maine driver’s license. Tr. Duff responded and learned that the charge was from 1991 and that the man had paid his fine but not the reinstatement fee. Tr. Duff contacted the Department of Motor Vehicles and the man paid the reinstatement fee over the phone. Tr. Duff cleared the scene.

Incident Type: UNDERAGE DRINKING PARTY Date: 5/25/2018 Town: WOODLAND Trooper: TR. STOUTAMYER Brief Synopsis: Tr Stoutamyer received a tip of an underage drinking party in Woodland. Tr Stoutamyer and Tr Pescitelli responded and found most of the vehicles had left, Tr Stoutamyer summonsed the 20-year-old female who lived at the residence with possession of alcohol by a minor.

Incident Type: OUI Date: 5/25/2018 Town: FRENCHVILLE Trooper: CPL. HAFFORD Brief Synopsis: Cpl Hafford was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash that occurred in Frenchville. While responding, Cpl Hafford was told that a car had hit a house and several parked vehicles at the residence, then the female operator got back into her car and drove a short distance before crashing in a ditch. Cpl Hafford arrived and found the female inside a nearby house and she was clearly intoxicated. Cpl Hafford transported her to Madawaska PD and administered a breath alcohol test, the female was also charged with violation of bail conditions.

Incident Type: OUI Date: 5/26/2018 Town: ORIENT Trooper: TR. BELL Brief Synopsis: Tr. Bell responded to the report of a drunk female crashing her car in a ditch in Orient. Upon arrival, the female was gone. However, while the scene was being processed a male drove up to the scene, and the passenger was the female driver of the crashed car. The odor of intoxicating beverages was coming from the male’s car, and it was discovered that the male didn’t have a driver’s license and admitted to drinking alcohol. After investigation, the male was arrested for OUI and blood results are pending. Tr. Adams assisted by investigating the original crash and contacting the female’s probation officer. The female was found to be violating her probation conditions by her admission of using alcohol.

Incident Type: WARRANT ARREST Date: 5/26/2018 Town: PATTEN Trooper: TR. ADAMS Brief Synopsis: Tr Adams was on patrol in Patten and he observed a male that he recognized as having 2 outstanding arrest warrants. Tr Adams approached the male and arrested the 40-year-old male on the warrants.

Incident Type: OUI Date: 5/26/2018 Town: EASTON Trooper: TR. PESCITELLI Brief Synopsis: Tr. Pescitelli received a complaint of a motor vehicle theft from an address in Chapman. Upon meeting the complainant Tr. Pescitelli observed signs of impairment in the individual. The individual admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the day then driving the vehicle. After further investigation, it was revealed that the individual did not have permission to use the vehicle from the owner. The owner declined to pursue charges for unauthorized use of motor vehicle. After administering Field Sobriety tests on the individual who operated the vehicle he was placed under arrest for OUI. He was taken to PIPD and administered an intoxilyzer test.

Incident Type: OUI Date: 5/27/2018 Town: CHAPMAN Trooper: TR. PESCITELLI Brief Synopsis: Tr. Pescitelli received a complaint of a vehicle off the road and the complainant reported the operator appeared to be intoxicated. Nearby agencies were notified and an Officer from PIPD initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle for imprudent speed. During the course of the investigation it was determined the operator of the vehicle was under the influence of alcohol. He was placed under arrest for OUI and brought to PIPD for an intoxilyzer test.
