Incident Type: Warrant Arrest Date: 6/19/2017 Town: T11 R4 Trooper: Tr. Pescitelli Brief Synopsis: Tr. Pescitelli was on patrol when he observed a vehicle travelling at 81 mph in a 50 mph zone. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and it was discovered a passenger in the vehicle had an active warrant for his arrest. Tr. Pescitelli summonsed the driver for the speed and the passenger was arrested and transported to Aroostook County Jail.

Incident Type: Warrant arrest/ Case solved Date: 6/19/2017 Town: Mapleton Trooper: Tr. Pescitelli Brief Synopsis: Houlton RCC received a phone call regarding an individual wanting to turn himself in on a warrant for Violation of a Protection Order. This individual was a suspect in a recent Burglary that had occurred at the Mapleton Pizza House two weeks prior. Tr. Pescitelli was familiar with the male and met with him at the Mapleton Pool where he was arrested for the warrant. While in route to the jail Tr. Pescitelli was able to obtain a detailed confession from the individual regarding the Burglary and he was charged with burglary and theft as well.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 6/20/2017 Town: Mars Hill Trooper: Cpl. Michaud Brief Synopsis: While investigating a criminal trespass complaint at the Central Aroostook Jr./Sr High School, Cpl. Michaud watched a vehicle drive down a residential street and then behind the school in an area where a camper had been set up on school property. When Cpl. Michaud approached the operator as to why he was behind the school he learned that the operator’s driver’s license was suspended. He was also on bail so he was cited for VCR as well as OAS.

Incident Type: Case Solved Date: 6/21/2017 Town: Patten Trooper: Tr. Saucier Brief Synopsis: Tr. Saucier worked with Deputies from the Penobscot Sheriff’s Office and Maine Warden Service on investigating multiple burglaries and thefts that had occurred in the Patten area in the recent past. 3 suspects had been sought in connection with the crime spree. They were ultimately located and arrested. One suspect was found hiding under a vehicle, and the other two were located at separate times hiding in bathrooms. Property was also recovered in the investigation. In addition Tr. Saucier developed information on a burglary that had occurred during the night by one of the subjects being sought. Tr. Saucier began an investigation on that new burglary and ended up solving the crime and recovering the property before the victims even had a chance to report it.

Incident Type: Accident – Multi Vehicle Date: 6/24/2017 Town: Houlton Trooper: Tr. Kilcollins Brief Synopsis: Tr. Kilcollins investigated a crash in Houlton involving Houlton Ambulance. The ambulance was responding to an emergency call for someone with respiratory issues. Houlton Ambulance was driving south on North Street and the car was stopped at a red light at the intersection of North Street and Union Square. As the ambulance approached the intersection with its emergency lights and siren activated the traffic light turned giving the car a green light. The car proceeded through the intersection and did not see or hear the ambulance. The car struck the left side of the ambulance by the rear tire. Houlton PD responded to the crash but requested the State Police conduct the investigation and Trp. Kilcollins responded. The ambulance crew complained of minor pain. This crash is still under investigation. PHOTOS HERE

Incident Type: Warrant Date: 6/24/2017 Town: Merrill Trooper: Tr. Adams Brief Synopsis: Tr. Adams went to a residence looking for a female that had an active warrant for her arrest. The female was located and arrested without incident and was not able to make bail. The female was transported to the Aroostook County Jail.

Incident Type: OUI Date: 6/25/2017 Town: Mars Hill Trooper: Tr. Pescitelli Brief Synopsis: Tr. Pescitelli was called out to investigate a suspicious male and vehicle in a driveway to a vacant residence in Mars Hill. Tr. Pescitelli located and met the male who told the Trooper that he had been consuming alcohol then he said he felt he was too impaired as he was driving home and pulled over. After conducting field sobriety tests the male was arrested for OUI. He was then transported to Presque Isle Police Department for an Intoxilyzer test. The male was charged with OUI and bailed.

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties.
