Troop F of the Maine State Police responded to 134 calls for service over the past week in and around Aroostook County. Here are the incidents posted in their weekly report:

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 1/31/2017 Town: Frenchville Trooper: Tr. Desrosier Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier arrested a 19-year-old Frenchville resident for failing to appear in court for a fine hearing. The man tried to tell Tr. Desrosier he was not aware of the hearing and that is why he was not in attendance. Tr. Desrosier arrested the man and took him to the Fort Kent Police Department where he was able to post bail.

Incident Type: TRAFFIC OFFENSE Date: 1/31/2017 Town: Island Falls Trooper: Tr. Adams Brief Synopsis: Tr. Adams Stopped a vehicle for speeding on I-95. The vehicle had an expired inspection sticker and expired registration. The operator was issued a criminal summons for failing to register a motor vehicle beyond 150 days.

Incident Type: THEFT Date: 2/01/2017 Town: Castle Hill Trooper: Tr. Casavant Brief Synopsis: Tr. Casavant responded to a theft complaint in Castle Hill. A local women reported she had hired and individual to shovel her driveway and although they had agreed on a price; she reported the man took more money from her then he was supposed to. The victim did not want any theft charges brought against the man; she only wanted him warned not to return to her property.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 2/01/2017 Town: Houlton Trooper: Tr. Bell Brief Synopsis: Tr. Bell received information that a suspended driver was southbound out of Presque Isle. The vehicle was located in Houlton, and the driver was summonsed for operating after suspension. A female passenger had an active warrant and was arrested by Tr. Pescitelli.

Incident Type: ACCIDENT - MULTI VEHICLE Date: 2/02/2017 Town: Dyer Brook Trooper: Tr. Adams Brief Synopsis: Tr. Adams responded to a two-car crash in Dyer Brook. A vehicle was traveling northbound and stopped in the road way and started to back up because the operator missed his turn. The vehicle struck another vehicle behind him causing damage to the other vehicle. The operator of the second vehicle was transported to Houlton Regional Hospital with complaint of pain in her arm and neck.

Incident Type: IMPERSONATING AN OFFICER Date: 2/02/2017 Town: Fort Kent Trooper: Cpl. Hafford Brief Synopsis: Cpl Hafford was notified of a 20-year-old male who was claiming on Facebook to be a State Police K-9 Officer. He also claimed to previously worked for the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office and to have attended the Criminal Justice Academy. Cpl Hafford checked with Sheriff Crandall who confirmed that the male had never been employed by his department. Cpl Hafford checked with the Academy who also confirmed that he had never attended the Academy. A photo posted on his Facebook page was actually taken off a google search and was a photo of a State Police cruiser used in a Troop F weekly report from November 2014. Cpl Hafford summonsed the male for the Class E crime of Impersonating a Public Servant. MORE DETAILS HERE.

Incident Type: Burglary Date: 2/02/2017 Town: Blaine Trooper: Tr. Pescitelli Brief Synopsis: Tr. Pescitelli received a report of a burglary in progress on the Blaine. A 14-year-old child was home at the time unbeknownst to the female perpetrator who entered the home and traveled throughout both floors of the residence and was heard rummaging through doors. The resident photographed the perpetrator’s vehicle and was able to obtain a plate number and contacted a parent who then returned home and met the perpetrator exiting the front door of the residence. The parent contacted the State Police and through Tr. Pescitelli’ s investigation he was able to determine the identity of the perpetrator as 50-year-old Doris Tardy of Blaine. Tr.Pescitelli located Tardy at her residence and with the assistance of Tr. Adam Stoutamyer she was placed under arrest for multiple felony charges. An arrest most likely would not have occurred if not for the actions/assistance of the child who was home at the time.

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 2/04/2017 Town: Littleton Trooper: Tr. Kilcollins Brief Synopsis: Tr. Kilcollins stopped a vehicle on US Highway 1, Littleton, for a defective exhaust system and defective tail light. During the course of the stop Tr. Kilcollins learned the man had a warrant for his arrest for failing to appear in Presque Isle District Court for a charge of Operating After Suspension. Tr. Kilcollins arrested the man and transported him to the Troop F barracks where he was able to post bail.

Incident Type: ASSIST OTHER AGENCY Date: 2/04/2017 Town: Presque Isle Trooper: Tr. Levesque Brief Synopsis: Tr. Levesque assisted Presque Isle Police Department with removing a 45-year-old Massachusetts man from a hotel. The man was intoxicated in the hotel bar and became unruly. When he was asked to leave the hotel by the management he went to his room and locked himself inside. The man continued to scream through the door disturbing guests. The management used their master key to open the door and the man was arrested for disorderly conduct, criminal trespassing, and refusing to submit to arrest.

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 2/04/2017 Town: Island Falls Trooper: Tr. Saucier Brief Synopsis: Tr. Saucier arrested an Island Falls woman on a theft warrant. The warrant had been issued in January from the Houlton District Court.

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties.
