Troop F of the Maine State Police responded to 119 calls for service in and around Aroostook County this past week. Here are the incidents included in their weekly report:

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 1/07/2019 Town: HODGDON Trooper: TR. DUFF Brief Synopsis: Tr. Duff received information of a man hiding at a residence in Hodgdon who had an active arrest warrant for drug charges, active conditions of release, and was suspect of still being in possession of illegal drugs. Tr. Duff and Tr. Kilcollins conducted an investigation which resulted in the man being located and arrested for the warrant, violating his conditions of release. A woman was in the home as well who was on bail. Drugs were located and the female was placed under arrest for new criminal conduct and VCR. The man and woman were transported to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.

Incident Type: CASE SOLVED Date: 1/11/2019 Town: STOCKHOLM Trooper: CPL. HAFFORD Brief Synopsis: Cpl Hafford obtained a search warrant for a residence in Stockholm in reference to a burglary that had been reported the previous week in New Sweden. As a result of the search warrant, nearly all items reported stolen were recovered and a male and his girlfriend were arrested and charged with burglary, theft and receiving stolen property, each charge was a Class C felony. Cpl Hafford was assisted in the warrant by Tr Stoutamyer, Tr Pescitelli, Sgt Fuller, Warden Ed Christie and Forestry Warden Steve Wipperman. Cpl Hafford also obtained search warrants for DNA swabs of both individuals for comparison to an item of evidence recovered at the scene of the burglary.

Incident Type: ILLEGAL ATTACHMENT Date: 1/12/2019 Town: MARS HILL Trooper: TR. LEVESQUE Brief Synopsis: Tr. Levesque was conducting traffic enforcement on Mars Hill when he observed a vehicle committing a traffic infraction. Tr. Levesque stopped the vehicle and during the course of the stop discovered the registration plates attached to the pickup were illegally attached. Tr. Levesque issued the driver a criminal summons for false attachment of plates and had the vehicle towed from the roadway.

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 1/12/2019 Town: FORT KENT Trooper: TR. CURTIN Brief Synopsis: Tr. Curtin arrested a Fort Kent man on and outstanding warrant. The man had failed to appear in court on a criminal mischief charge. He was arrested without incident and transported to the jail.

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 1/12/2019 Town: ASHLAND Trooper: TR. CASAVANT Brief Synopsis: Tr. Casavant had been working on a complaint in the Central Aroostook area regarding a man who had a warrant out for his arrest. The male subject had been involved in several calls for service since a warrant for his arrest had been issued in September of 2018. This evening, Tr. Casavant focused his efforts to bring the man into custody and ultimately found him hiding in a bathroom closet. He was arrested and taken to jail.

Incident Type: OUI Date: 1/12/2019 Town: SHERMAN Trooper: TR. SAUCIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Saucier arrested a Sherman man for Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol. The man lost control of the vehicle he was driving on the Island Falls Road and crashed into a snow bank. He was transported to the jail and an intoxilyzer test was administered. The man tested over the legal limit and was summoned to Houlton District Court by Tr. Saucier for OUI.
