Troop F of the Maine State Police responded to 141 calls for service in and around Aroostook County this past week. Here are the incidents included in their weekly report:

Incident Type: OAS Date: 7/31/2018 Town: PATTEN Trooper: CPL. QUINT Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Quint was conducting traffic enforcement in Patten, when he observed a pickup that was not registered, had an expired inspection certificate, and the male driver was not wearing his seat belt. Cpl. Quint stopped the truck and learned the male had a suspended driver’s license. The man was issued a criminal summons for OAS. The company that owned the pickup was issued a summons for the unregistered vehicle and for the expired inspection. The man was issued a warning for the seat belt violation.

Incident Type: THEFT Date: 8/01/2018 Town: SHERMAN Trooper: TR. SAUCIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Saucier was called to Circle K in Sherman for a report of shoplifting when a clerk observed a male subject stealing on camera. Tr. Saucier was unable to locate the 24-year-old Bangor man and a warrant will be issued for his arrest.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 8/02/2018 Town: PATTEN Trooper: TR. SAUCIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Saucier was working traffic in Patten when he had occasion to stop a 38-year-old Patten man. The man was arrested for felony operating beyond restrictions and an alcohol violation. The man was transported to PCJ in Bangor.

Incident Type: CRIMINAL SPEED Date: 8/02/2018 Town: CROSS LAKE TWP Trooper: TR. CURTIN Brief Synopsis: Tr. Curtin was parked at the Cross Lake Fire Dept. monitoring traffic when he observed a vehicle traveling at criminal speed 90 in the posted 55. Tr. Curtin summonsed the 27-year-old Presque Isle man for criminal speed.

Incident Type: Criminal Speed Date: 8/03/2018 Town: Wallagrass Trooper: Cpl. Hafford Brief Synopsis: Cpl Hafford was patrolling Rt. 11 in Wallagrass and stopped a 28-year-old female for 79 mph in a 45 mph zone. Cpl Hafford summonsed her for criminal speed.

Incident Type: OUI DETAIL Date: 8/03/2017 Town: EAGLE LAKE AND FRENCHVILLE Trooper: TR. CURTIN Brief Synopsis: Tr. Curtin while working an OUI detail in Northern Aroostook County arrested a 66-year-old Madawaska man for OUI drugs. Tr. Curtin also arrested a 30-year-old St Agatha man on an outstanding warrant and charged him with OAS

Incident Type: OUI Date: 8/03/2018 Town: CROSS LAKE Trooper: TR. DESROSIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier stopped a vehicle in Cross Lake for a defective headlight. During the stop, Tr. Desrosier could smell burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and observed empty containers of liquor in the vehicle as well. Tr. Desrosier had the 21-year-old male driver exit the vehicle and perform Field Sobriety Testing, consequently resulting in the man’s arrest. A breath test showed he no evidence of impairment from liquor. Tr. Desrosier performed an evaluation as a drug recognition expert resulting in the man being arrested for OUI drugs (cannabis).

Incident Type: FALSE ATTACHEMENT Date: 8/04/2018 Town: SAINT AGATHA Trooper: TR. DESROSIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier stopped a vehicle for speeding in Saint Agatha. During the stop, Tr. Desrosier discovered the driver illegally attached the registration plates to the vehicle due to not having the money for registration. Tr. Desrosier issued the male driver a criminal summons for false attachment of plates and had him park the vehicle.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 8/04/2018 Town: MAPLETON Trooper: TR. KILCOLLINS Brief Synopsis: Tr. Kilcollins was conducting traffic enforcement in Mapleton and stopped a vehicle for improper use of auxiliary lighting. During the stop, Tr. Kilcollins discovered the female driver had a suspended Maine driver’s license. Tr. Kilcollins issued the woman a summons for the infraction and helped her arrange to have a licensed driver come get the vehicle.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 8/05/2018 Town: FRENCHVILLE Trooper: TR. DESROSIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier stopped a vehicle in Frenchville for speeding. During the stop, Tr. Desrosier discovered the male driver had a suspended Maine driver’s license. Tr. Desrosier issued the man a traffic summons for the infraction and helped him arrange for her to have a licensed driver come get the vehicle.

Incident Type: OUI Date: 8/05/2018 Town: FRENCHVILLE Trooper: TR. DESROSIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier was conducting a traffic stop in Frenchville when a vehicle nearly struck his cruiser. The driver stopped and then attempted leave the area. Tr. Desrosier had the man stop again and had him park his vehicle. Tr. Desrosier suspected the man was intoxicated and had him perform Field Sobriety Testing. The man failed the tests and was taken to Madawaska PD for a breath test. The man was able to post bail and arranged to have a sober driver come get him.
