Incident Type: THEFT/VCR Date: (8/19/2017) Town: Mars Hill Trooper: Tr. Pescitelli Brief Synopsis: On the above date Tr. Pescitelli received a complaint in Mars Hill regarding a theft of drugs. A male had let a female, who is out on bail, spend the night at his residence and upon returning from dropping her off the next morning in Presque Isle he discovered his prescribed buprenorphine (Suboxone) gone. His father who also lives at the residence stated that the medication in his cupboard had been rifled through. The suspect was located on 8/25/2017 when she showed up for a previous VCR court date. With the assistance of Tr. Stoutamyer and Probation Officer Jenna Spoto the suspect was administered a urine test. The test indicated she had recently used methamphetamine among other illegal drugs. The female was arrested and transported to ACJ to be processed.

Incident Type: Underage Liquor Violation Date: 8/21/2017 Town: Saint Agatha Trooper: Tr. Desrosier Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier stopped a vehicle for speeding in Saint Agatha. Tr. Desrosier asked for identification from all 4 male occupants and noticed they were all less than 21 years of age. The rear passenger admitted to drinking liquor and had a BAC over the legal limit according to Tr. Desrosier’ s portable breath test device. The man was issued a summons for possession of liquor via consumption and issued the driver a warning for his speed. The driver had drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and did receive a civil summons for the violation

Incident Type: Operating after Revocation Date: 8/23/2017 Town: Easton Trooper: Sgt. Clark Brief Synopsis: Sgt. Clark observed a man getting into the driver’s seat of a pickup at the store in Easton. Sgt. Clark knew that the man’s license was revoked from a previous incident and that the man was also on bail. Sgt. Clark parked down the road and observed the man drive passed him. Sgt. Clark made a traffic stop on the vehicle and placed the man under arrest. The vehicle was not registered and belonged to his employer and was towed from the scene. The man was charged with violation of conditions of release, operating after revocation, and the registration violation. The man posted bail and was released.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 8/23/2017 Town: Mars Hill Trooper: Tr. Kilcollins Brief Synopsis: Tr. Kilcollins was patrolling in the Mars Hill area when he observed a 34-year-old Mars Hill man driving. Tr. Kilcollins knew the man did not have a valid license and conducted a traffic stop. The man admitted to knowing his license was currently under suspension and was issued a criminal summons for the violation. On 08-26, Tr. Kilcollins was patrolling in the Mars Hill area when he observed the same 34-year-old Mars Hill man he stopped on the 23rd for OAS, driving again. Tr. Kilcollins stopped the man and arrested him for driving with a suspended license. The man was taken to Presque Isle where he was able to post bail. The car was towed from the roadway.

Incident Type: PURSUIT Date: 8/24/2017 Town: St. Agatha Trooper: Tr. Curtin Brief Synopsis: Tr. Curtin attempted to pull over a vehicle that had been parked at an abandoned residence when it pulled out onto the roadway and began driving with no headlights. The vehicle sped off around a turn and turned its light on briefly, but then shut them off again. As Tr. Curtin began pursuing the vehicle, it shut its lights off again and then turned into a field and began driving without lights across the area. At this point, the pursuit was called off even though the speeds were only approximately 45 MPH due to the dangerous conditions of driving through the potato fields in the dark at this time of year with all of the farm and irrigation equipment present.

Incident Type: PURSUIT Date: 8/24/17 Town: Island Falls Trooper: Tr. Saucier Brief Synopsis: On 8/24/17 just before 7 PM, Tr. Saucier was on I-95 in Sherman monitoring northbound traffic when he clocked a vehicle at 115 MPH. Trooper Saucier activated his emergency lights and siren and began to pursue the vehicle. Eventually, Trooper Saucier was able to catch up to the vehicle, but the operator refused to stop. Trooper Saucier continued to chase the vehicle on I-95 at speeds of well over 100 MPH until the vehicle exited at Island Falls. Once the pursued vehicle left the interstate, it turned onto Route 159 and traveled a short distance before the operator lost control and crashed on a sharp turn. Once the vehicle crashed, Trooper Saucier removed the driver and passenger from the vehicle and arrested them both. The operator, 24-year-old Nathan Love of Minot, was arrested and charged with the following offenses: Criminal Speed, Failure to Stop for a Law Enforcement Officer, Operating without a License, and Operating Under the Influence. His passenger, 25-year-old Nathaniel Bourget of Millinocket, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear on an assault charge and also charged with Violating Conditions of Release. There were no injuries in the crash and both the operator and his passenger were taken to the Aroostook County Jail. The 2005 Chrysler Sebring was damaged in the crash and had to be towed from the scene.

Incident Type: CRIMINAL SPEED Date: 8/26/2017 Town: Monticello Trooper: Cpl. Quint Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Quint was conducting traffic enforcement when he observed a vehicle come off a side street and accelerate rapidly. Cpl. Quint stopped the vehicle for criminal speeding (81 mph in a posted 45 mph zone). The 17-year-old male driver said he was just going home and had no reason to be driving so fast. Cpl. Quint contacted the boy’s father and discovered the young man has two other speeding type infractions pending in Houlton court.

Incident Type: OUI Date: 8/26/2017 Town: Frenchville Trooper: Tr. Desrosier Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier stopped a vehicle for an expired inspection certificate in Frenchville. During the stop Tr. Desrosier suspected the 45-year-old Frenchville man was impaired. Tr. Desrosier conducted Field Sobriety Testing on the man which he failed and was arrested. The man was able to post bail and was released.

Incident Type: OUI Date: 8/27/2017 Town: Frenchville Trooper: Tr. Desrosier Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier stopped a vehicle in Frenchville for a speeding. During the stop Tr. Desrosier suspected the 36-year-old Frenchville woman was impaired. Tr. Desrosier conducted Field Sobriety Testing on the woman and she ended being arrested for OUI. The woman told Tr. Desrosier the reason she was driving was because her passengers were drunk. The woman was able to post bail and was released.

Incident Type: OUI Date: 8/27/2017 Town: Monticello Trooper: Sgt. Clark Brief Synopsis: Sgt. Clark stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction in Monticello. During the stop Sgt. Clark suspected the 33-year-old man from Presque Isle was impaired. After conducting Field Sobriety Testing Sgt. Clark arrested the man and transported him to the State Police barracks in Houlton and then he was taken to the Aroostook County Jail.
