Maine State Parks Accept Online Applications for Free Camping Weekend

Maine residents looking to experience the great outdoors for the first time may be able to do so this year free-of-charge, as state park officials announced today that they are now searching for some would-be-campers interested in giving the art of roughing it a fair shake.

According to a press release, between now and May 31, Maine state park officials will be accepting applications from virgin-outdoorsmen wishing to take a break from their city slicker roots and seize an opportunity to win a free weekend of camping at any one of Maine’s state parks.

This year, forty-four Mainers will be selected at random to win this free camping weekend, including one grand-prize winner who will also receive a $1,000 gift certificate from L.L. Bean.

Interested parties must submit an online application by May 31 to be considered for the drawing scheduled to take place June 4.
