The Boston Celtics Developmental League team in Portland will open up the 2016-17 home campaign tonight in a game versus the Long Island Nets at the Expo.

The Red Claws opened up the season with three straight road games in which Portland went 2-1, falling in a contest via Rio Grande on Tuesday night.  Abdel Nader is leading the Claws with 27 points per game in the early season, while Demetrius Jackson and Jalen Jones are averaging 22.3 points.

The team will play its games again in the Portland Expo and is coming off a 31-19 season in which they lost to the Canton Charge in the first round of the playoffs.

The home opener will get underway at 7 p.m. on Friday night
