ROCKLAND, Maine (AP) — Police in Maine are searching for a hit-and-run suspect who they say seriously injured a woman in a wheelchair.

Officials say the crash happened in Rockland on Sunday morning. Police say the driver hit 52-year-old Arlene Holt from behind as she traveled in her motorized wheelchair on state Route 73.

Authorities say Holt was knocked out of her chair. Police say the suspect fled the scene of the crash.

Holt was treated for serious injuries at Maine Medical Center.

An investigation is ongoing.
