If you heard drums on the streets of Presque Isle this afternoon, you're not alone! We were witness to the 20 or so people taking part in the Maine Drone Peace Walk that kicked off yesterday in Limestone.

The walk will be going on until the 19th of this month. Their mission? Preserving privacy: no drone spying in Maine.

These folks are walking across parts of Maine to call attention to the drone program, as there is talk of bringing drones to Maine and making the Presque Isle airport a 'weaponized drone test center,' thus their reason for starting the walk in Aroostook County.

This is a non-violent peace walk that is being lead by a Buddhist monk and nun from the Nipponzan Myohoji order.

You can check out the walk schedule and learn more here and here.
