According to CIMT, a police officer noticed the man driving a damaged car on Victoria Street shortly before 3:30 p.m. The man was driving a silver Honda that had front end damage, with the airbags deployed.

The officer tried to intercept the vehicle, but the driver continued down the road. It's not clear why the man refused to stop, but police suspected he may have been impaired by drugs or alcohol.

After pursuing the car for a few kilometers, police officers positioned their cruisers at the intersection of Emerson Street and Canada Way, and the fugitive was finally stopped and taken into custody.

The man was released on a promise to appear in provincial court on August 6.
