Loretta Lynn has shared the title track of her forthcoming album, a song called "Wouldn't It Be Great?" It's the last song the country legend wrote for her late husband, Oliver "Doolittle" Lynn, and finds her wishing to hear one last "I love you" from her man.

"My husband liked to drink a lot and that's where that song comes from. ‘Say you love me just one time, with a sober mind,’" she explains. "I always liked that song, but I never liked to sing it around Doo."

"Doo" died in 1996.

"Wouldn't it be fine if you could say you love me just one time / With a sober mind / Wouldn't that be fine / Now wouldn't that be fine / Wouldn't it be great if you could love me first and let the bottle wait / Now wouldn't that be great / Wouldn't that be great?" the country icon sings on the first verse.

"I sang it to him when he was dying," Lynn reveals.

Lynn's daughter, Patsy Lynn Russell, says this song has meant a great deal to her, too, ad that, "It shows just how masterful my mom is with writing down her feelings."

Russell was a co-producer on the project, along with John Carter Cash. The album was recorded at the Cash Cabin Studio in Hendersonville, Tenn., and originally scheduled to be released in 2017, but was delayed after Lynn suffered a stroke on May 5, 2017.

Wouldn't It Be Great — the album — is finally being released on Sept. 28, 2018.
