Loretta Lynn Celebrates ‘White Christmas Blue’ in Album Teaser Clip
Loretta Lynn has just released her first Christmas album in decades, and she's sharing the holiday spirit with her fans in a new teaser clip from the album sessions.
The 84-year-old country legend's voice still sounds as good as ever, and her personal spark hasn't dimmed with the passage of time, as is apparent in the video above. The clip, which she posted to Facebook, shows Lynn in the studio with her recording team. They seem to be having a good time, and the video also shows Lynn seated in a red gown beside a Christmas tree for a promotional shoot for the project.
Released on Friday (Oct. 7), the album is Lynn's first Christmas collection since 1966. White Christmas Blue features Lynn's new interpretations of holiday classics including "Winter Wonderland," "Frosty the Snowman," "White Christmas" and more, and she co-wrote the title song with Shawn Camp. A press release describes the project as "an emotional and personal journey through Christmases past, present and future."
Lynn was forced to pull out her annual Labor Day show at her ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn., on Sept. 3, after getting injured in a fall earlier in the week. She canceled a run of shows to recuperate and ended up having to cancel additional dates to give her more time to heal. According to the events calendar on her official website, Lynn's next scheduled performance is on Oct. 21 in Kansas, with dates scheduled as far out as May of 2017.
