Ashland police said 57-year-old Cleveland Richardson of Patten was headed south around 12:30 p.m. when he lost control on a curve as the trailer slid on the snowy surface. The rig, belonging to H.C. Haynes, Inc. of Winn, Maine slid sideways and tipped over, knocking down several utility poles in the process.

Richardson received bumps and bruises, but was not seriously injured.

Crews worked for several hours to clear the logs off the roadway at the site of the rollover about one mile south of Ashland.

The Maine DOT said traffic was being allowed through around 5 p.m. but workers were still clearing the scene after 6 p.m.

The Ashland Police Department continues to investigate the accident.
