According to the Aroostook County Sheriff's Office, on January 22, 2014 Kaitlynn Wellington of New Limerick left her 2007 Nissan Sentra in the parking lot at the Littleton Pit Stop on US Route 1, before she left to commute north with another person.

Around 11:30 a.m. that same day, 45-year-old Robert Henderson of Littleton arrived at the Pit Stop and got out of his vehicle. Police say his vehicle was not in park and it traveled about 70 yards, striking Wellington’s parked vehicle, causing about $5,000 in damage.

Witnesses reported that Henderson looked over the damage, got back into his vehicle and left the area without reporting the incident to the police.

Sheriff’s Deputies were called and tracked Henderson down. He was interviewed and then charged with leaving the scene of an accident, a Class E crime. Henderson’s vehicle sustained only minor damage.
