These sessions are the first in a series of public meetings and discussions that will take place for the management plan process.  The National Park Service has committed to completing the management plan in three years.  Management plans for new monuments establish the overarching vision for the public lands and guide the direction for future work and activities.

The goals of these first meetings that will be held in September are to hear the diverse perspectives from the communities and public and begin to identify the issues and opportunities that will inform additional public discussions for the management plan going forward.

The listening session schedule currently includes:

Patten Recreation Center, Thursday September 15, from: 6:30 - 8:30PM

Medway Middle School, Tuesday September 20, from 6:30 - 8:30PM

Stearns High School, Thursday, September 22, from 6:30 - 8:30PM

The public is welcome to attend any of the sessions.  For more information or questions, please contact Christina Marts, Community Planner, at Christina_Marts@nps.gov or 207.456.6001. Updates and additional details of future public engagement activities will also be available at the monument’s website:  www.nps.gov/kaww.
